NearMow Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NearMow LLC ("NearMow," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the NearMow platform.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (encrypted), collected at signup.

Location information: your service address or approximate location (latitude/longitude), used to match Homeowners with nearby Specialists and to determine Specialist service coverage. If you do not provide a full address, we may use an approximate location derived from your zip code.

Job and service information: service requests, job details, messages exchanged between Homeowners and Specialists, job photos you choose to upload, and service history.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. NearMow does not directly store your full card number or bank account details. We do store limited payment-related metadata (such as transaction IDs, platform fees, and subscription status) needed to operate the Platform.

Device and usage information: basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and how you interact with the Platform, including push notification subscription data if you opt in to notifications.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: match Homeowners with nearby Specialists and display accurate service coverage; process payments and payouts through Stripe; send job-related notifications (job requests, acceptances, messages, completion, and payment updates) via push notification or email, if enabled; maintain the security and integrity of the Platform, including preventing fraud; respond to support requests sent to hello@nearmow.com; and improve and operate the Platform.

3. How We Share Information

• Between Homeowners and Specialists: when a job is requested or accepted, relevant contact and location information necessary to complete the job is shared between the Homeowner and Specialist involved.
• Stripe: payment and payout information necessary to process transactions and Specialist payouts is shared with Stripe, subject to Stripe's own privacy policy.
• Service providers: we use Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (hosting) to operate the Platform. These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of NearMow, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and job information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, or dispute-resolution obligations. You may request deletion of your account by contacting hello@nearmow.com; some information may be retained where required by law or legitimate business need (e.g., transaction records).

5. Your Choices

• You may opt out of push notifications at any time through your device or browser settings, or by disabling them in your NearMow profile.
• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@nearmow.com.
• If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion; contact us to exercise these rights.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted authentication and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

NearMow is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
